Enterprise Vault PST Locator does not scan /vol/vol0 on a Network Appliance Filer
Details:
Problem Description
The standard installation of the
ONTAP operating system in Network Appliance Filers defaults to
/vol/vol0.
The CIFS Server configuration
automatically maps the C$ CIFS share to root (/) which corresponds to
/vol/vol0
Enterprise Vault PST Locator
will scan all volumes available on the Filer as part of normal
operation.
In order to detect PST files
which may be present on /vol/vol0 the scan will first include root
(/) as a target and the C$ mapping is intentionally ignored to avoid
duplicate scan operations.
Filers on which the standard
configuration has been modified due to operating system upgrades or any other
administrative purpose, and the C$ mapping no longer points to the volume
hosting root (/) may result in the /vol/vol0 volume being ignored
by the scan.
