An attempt to restore Exchange 2007 to a Recovery Storage Group fails with error "A failure occurred querying the Writer status"
Details:
When running a restore of Exchange 2007 to a Recovery
Storage Group the restore may fail with this error in the job log:
Final
error: "0xe000fed1 - A failure occurred querying the Writer status"
This
can be caused by the way the restore set was selected in the restore selection
list. In figure 1 there is a forward slash next to the storage group. This is
caused by selecting the mailbox database and the logs individually.
Figure 2
shows the correct way to select the data to
restore.
