Running the Expiry report in Outlook shows items beyond the expiry days when using ItemGranularityOnly indexing.
Details:
The report shows items that will expire within the next 60
days by default. Items can be seen with an expiration higher than 60 if
the ItemGranularityOnly schema type is being used for indexing and expiration is
set to Modified date on the Storage Expiry tab of the Site
Properties. For more information on ItemGranularityOnly please refer to
the link in the Related Documents section. The item is displayed
because an attachment, that has an older modified date, in the email falls
within the 60 day range of expiration. This will then show the item in the
report that contains the attachment and display the days until the email is
expired.
NOTE: If Expiry is run the attachment and
email will not be expired until the email expiration date is met. Expiry
is run using the database entries and the report is gathered from the
index, therefore it will list the email in the
report.
