II. KNOWN ISSUES
=================
This section contains known issues with this Release Update that have not
yet been fixed in NetBackup. These issues will likely be fixed in future
Release Updates for this version of NetBackup.
+ (ET1668436) Closing the NetBackup-Java Administration console does not
terminate the NBSL session. It can cause the NBPROXY processes to run for
the next 24 hours and eventually time out. In addition, if you frequently
start and stop the NetBackup-Java Administration console, the number of
running NBPROXY processes increases the load on the respective NetBackup
Master Server and eventually affects the performance of the Master Server.

Download instructions:
1) Download the NB_JAV_6.5.4.winnt.IA64_<6 digit number>.exe file into a
temporary directory.
where <6 digit number> is an internal tracking identifier
2) Extract the NB_JAV_6.5.4.winnt.IA64_<6 digit number>.exe
by double-clicking on it.
This will create a number of files that include:

Setup.exe

IV. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

** The content of this online Readme supersedes the information in the Readme
contained in the download. **
Installation steps:
1) Close all NetBackup Java Windows.
2) Run Setup.exe (Double-click on the icon from File Manager or Explorer or run
it from the command prompt)
3) Examine the <TEMP>\NetBackup Install.Log file to ensure that no errors took
place during the installation.
4) Remove the temporary directory created in the download instructions.
Note: If you are installing the Release Update using the silent install
script, please review the <TEMP>\MaintenancePack.Log after the installation is
finished, a reboot maybe required to complete the installation of the
Release Update. A search of the log for the key words "in use" indicates which
files were busy during the installation.

**Important notices regarding un-installs on Windows**
Only the last Release Update installed on a Windows system can be un-installed.
If uninstalling NetBackup Java, uninstall all NetBackup Java Release Updates
first.
1) Close all NetBackup Java Windows.
2) Go to Add/Remove programs dialog box and select correct Pack to be uninstalled.

In the Change Configuration dialog for a Bare Metal Restore client, while
mapping a HP-UX/AIX Volume Group or a VxVM Disk Group or SVM Disk Set,
if a user chooses the "Simplify Volume Group"/"Simplify Disk
Group"/"Simplify Disk Set" option respectively, the user interface was
enforcing a size check which was not required.
Because of this issue, the user could not proceed with the mapping
operation from the user interface if the space available on the disks
was less than that used by the original volume group.

1. In the basic duplication tab, click on "Advanced configuration"
2. Inside the "Advanced configuration" screen, enable the "Alternate
read server" option.
3. Add a new duplication rule and choose an alternate read server from
the drop-down list.
4. Save the profile.
5. Edit the profile again. Uncheck the "Advanced configuration" option.
The "Alternate read server" drop-down menu on the basic screen is
populated with a list of servers and works fine.
