Backup Exec System Recovery Manager 8.5.x cannot manage clients until Management Control agent has been upgraded to 8.5.x.

Symptoms
- Jobs
remain in a pending state
- Attempts
to make changes to the client options (i.e. enable verbose logging) result in
updating jobs and settings
state
Workaround
Install the 8.5
Management Control agent onto each client. Note: The 8.5 Management Control
agent is capable of managing BESR 8.0.x clients.
In order to
facilitate a rolling upgrade new 8.5 clients should be directed to a new 8.5
management server thereby leaving the original 8.0 server to manage current 8.0
clients until they have been upgraded.

earlier versions of the product(s) cited at the end of this article. Symantec
Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied
customers.
There are no
plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of
the software at the present time. However, the issue has been addressed in
the revision of the product specified at the end of this
article.
