Inventory job hangs, backup job sits in "queued" status
Details:
Issue:
- An
inventory job hangs indefinitely in a running status
- A backup
job goes into a queued state indefinitely
Possible
Symptoms:
- In the
devices tab in Backup Exec, the tape drive will flash "in use" rather than a
solid "in use" notification.
- Tracer
shows the following check conditions;

Resolution;
Use the
library GUI (web interface, if available) to view the number of tapes loaded in
each slot and drive(s). If all slots AND the drive have media in them a
tape must be removed to allow for the library to move the tapes from the slots
to the drive(s).
Example:
Library with 8 slots can only hold a maximum of 8 tapes.
