When running backup for the local drive (s) on a Windows SBS (Small Business Server) 2003, job fails with a Remote Agent connection error
Details:
Solution:1. Ensure the Backup Exec Remote Agent
for Windows Servers (RAWS) service is running/logging on as the Local System
Account.
2. If RAWS is running under the Local System Account, make sure
the other Backup Exec for Windows Servers (BEWS) services are running under the
built-in Administrator Account.
3. Restart the BEWS
services.
4.
Once all the BEWS services are started, go to the following path
C:\Program
files\Symantec\Backup Exec and open BEUTILITY.exe
Note
: This installation directory of Backup Exec can vary depending on the version
of BEWS and the drive where the installation is done.
5.
Open BEUtility.exe Click on All media server and try to locate the server
name. If server name is not listed then add it by right clicking on All media
server and add new server .
6.
Once the Server name is listed, right click on the server name and click change
service account. Type the Backup Exec service account and password that needs to
be used.
7.
Restart the BEWS services once again and then retry the job.
