Details:
To potentially resolve the error listed above, update to the latest Symantec Device Drivers per the following:

OR

Symantec LiveUpdate can be run in version 11d and above of Backup Exec to install the tape device drivers:

How to manually run LiveUpdate in Backup Exec 11d to verify what hotfixes or service packs have already been installed or what updates are available for installation.

Please note:  If the library error still occurs after updating the device drivers, then it is possible that something is physically defective with the library or tape hardware.  Contact the hardware manufacturer to diagnose why the issue is occurring.
