Mailbox(s) may be missing from the restore selections of a backup set of an Exchange 2007 Information Store (IS) backup using Granular Restore Technology (GRT) to tape media
Details:
When an Exchange Information Store (IS) backup is performed
with Backup Exec utilizing the Granular Restore Technology (GRT), and the backup
job is written to tape, some Exchange Mailboxes may not appear in the (granular)
restore selections.
This may be caused by the difference between the
Alias and the objects' LegacyExchangeDN attributes final cn= value.
For
example a user's alias was initially "TESTUSER" and later changed to
"USERTEST".The object LegacyExchangeDN still shows
CN=TESTUSER.
Workaround:
Duplicate the
Exchange GRT backup to disk.
