Backup Exec 11.0 for Windows Servers revision 6235 Service Pack 3 Release Notes

Backup/Restore/Duplicate Jobs
- Memory leak occurs in Remote Agent when using 256 bit encryption
- DFSR (Distributed File System Replication): multiple groups with replication folders of the same name will not show more than one of the folder
- After applying hotfix 6 DFSR replicated folders do not show the correct data
- Synthetic backup misses some files and folders.
- Modifying a scheduled job twice causes the scheduler to skip the next scheduled backup
- Cycling services may cause jobs to miss the next scheduled backup
- Restore of folders causes the job to mount every file or tapes in the media family.
- NEW DEVICE SUPPORT: Lefthand Networks VSS Provider
- Jobs can be missed due to daylight savings time  
- Missed jobs attempt to run about 12 times a minute until canceled.
- Backup template is lost if the name includes Double Byte Characters
- Recycling services alter schedule type if job name contains Double Byte Characters
- Synthetic Incremental Backup job could miss folders if there are certain changes made to the hierarchal folder structure of a volume
- Though successful, a policy-based duplicate is not including all the sets from the associated backup job
MaxRpcDatablockSize default setting has been increased

Microsoft Exchange Agent
- A snapshot of the Exchange database may cause a service crash (Dr. Watson)
- Granular Restore Technology (GRT) is unable to restore public folder messages with attachments
- Redirection of public folders may result in a service crash (Dr. Watson)
- Set copy/duplicate jobs for GRT enabled backups (SPS, Exchange, & AD) over 2Gb in size can result in immediate failure
- Granular Restore Technology (GRT), a duplicate job may only copy a portion of the Exchange PDI/GRT backup from a Backup to Disk folder to Tape
- Using Granular Restore Technology (GRT), subject lines over 1024 characters in a mailbox message will cause Job Engine to crash (Dr. Watson)
- Using Granular Restore Technology (GRT), public folder restores do not use the Restore over Existing feature.
- Using Granular Restore Technology (GRT), restore selections of GRT backup to tape of Exchange database that exists in a Recovery Storage Group are not displayed.
- Exchange IS Backup to Tape with GRT enabled may not display all items for restore
- Restore of Exchange IS Mail items using GRT may not correctly restore attachments or embedded items
- Restore of Exchange IS Mail items using GRT may result in corrupt or missing mail messages

- Restore of a Mailbox from GRT data results in the Remote Agent Stopping on the Media Server

Microsoft SQL Agent
- SQL 2005 restore fails with encryption errors
- When a database is selected in the job, and the backup method for the file system is set to Working Set, the databases will not get backed up.  (For more details, please refer to this document:  http://support.veritas.com/docs/301016 )

Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server Agent
- Set copy/duplicate jobs for GRT enabled backups (SPS, Exchange, & AD) over 2Gb in size can result in immediate failure
- When a database is selected in the job, and the backup method for the file system is set to Working Set, the databases will not get backed up.  (For more details, please refer to this document:  http://support.veritas.com/docs/301016 )

Microsoft Active Directory Agent
- Set copy/duplicate jobs for GRT enabled backups (SPS, Exchange, & AD) over 2Gb in size can result in immediate failure
- Access Denied to Random AD objects when backing up (tape only)

Backup Exec Command Line Utility (BEMCMD)
- BEMCMD: -o16 returns -1 if job is active
- BEMCMD: -o202 -ds fails to delete both the scheduled job and the selection list (selection list is not deleted)
- BEMCMD: -o23 -s2 fails to return results consistent with previous BEMCMD switches: -o10, -o11 and -o12
- BEMCMD: Inconsistency in the output format of various BEMCMD switches: Return Value location at line 3, instead of line 2 as in previous versions
- BEMCMD.EXE -o111 and -o113 switches, erase and label, affect multiple slots when only one slot is specified in libraries with more than 10 slots.  

Intelligent Disaster Recovery Option
- When performing an IDR of a Windows 2003 server, the IDR Wizard is looking for Windows 2000 drivers for the network interface
- IDR is not able to detect TOE NICs
- IDR: RAWS can crash during DR file creation in certain circumstances
- IDR of a Dell PowerEdge 2950 failed to install LSI SAS 5/i controller and Broadcom Nics

Desktop/Laptop Option
- Setup.ini being removed when HF installed
- Incorrect Usage Summary Statistics for Network User Data Folder (NUDF) and Local User Data Folder (LUDF).
- When Admin manually enters the user "Unable to validate user" error occurs.
- The Macro %localfixeddrives% macro and "All local fixed drives" backup selection only backup C: drive
- Specific steps result in grooming of the base delta revision which leaves other delta revisions un-restorable

Oracle Agent
- Oracle: Restore of a tablespace backed up with encryption set and software compression fails
- Restore jobs for oracle database are failing for backups with encryption ON

Lotus Notes Agent
- After one complete backup, subsequent backups hang or fail until the Remote Agent for Windows Servers is stopped and restarted on the Lotus Domino server
- Lotus database restore fails with an error if Domino transaction logging is set to circular or linear mode
- Lotus database backup fails with error related to the Windows Change Journal

Central Administration Option
- After cycling services, communication between the CAS and MMS will be disrupted.

DB2 Agent
