BEFORE GETTING STARTED
----------------------
This patch is applicable to DNS Agent for VCS 5.0MP1 on AIX.


FIXES INCLUDED IN THE PATCH

e856373: DNS Agent enhancements for supporting A, AAAA records with
corresponding PTR records.

         $VCS_HOME/bin/DNS/clean
         $VCS_HOME/bin/DNS/DNS.xml
      $VCS_CONF/conf/types.cf

INSTALLING THE PATCH
=====================

Please note that this patch requires an update to the DNS resource type
definition in VCS (types.cf).

1. Dump the VCS configuration using the command:
   # haconf -dump -makero

As user "root", on each node of the VCS cluster:

2. Save a copy of the original scripts under $VCS_HOME/bin/DNS
  #cd $VCS_HOME/bin/DNS

  #cp online online.orig
  #cp offline offline.orig
  #cp clean clean.orig
  #cp monitor monitor.orig
  #cp DNSAgent.pm DNSAgent.pm.orig
  #cp DNSAgent.xml DNSAgent.xml.orig
 
3. Copy the updated types.cf. Default location for $VCS_CONF is /etc/VRTSvcs
  # cp -p $VCS_CONF/conf/types.cf $VCS_CONF/conf/types.cf.orig
  # cp <patch_location>/types.cf $VCS_CONF/conf/types.cf

4. Run the following commands to update the type definition of
DNS in VCS configuration:
  # haconf -makerw
  # hatype -modify DNS ArgList Domain TTL TSIGKeyFile StealthMasters \
                ResRecord CreatePTR OffDelRR
  # haattr -add DNS ResRecord -string -assoc
  # haattr -add DNS CreatePTR -boolean 0
  # haattr -add DNS OffDelRR -boolean 0
  # haconf -dump -makero

5. Copy DNS agent scripts from the patch to $VCS_HOME/bin/DNS
  # cd $VCS_HOME/bin/DNS
  # cp -r <patch_location>/DNS/* $VCS_HOME/bin/DNS

6. DNS resources, which support the new attributes, can now be added to
VCS configuration.
