Installation Procedure VxFS patch:
===================================

If the currently installed VRTSvxfs is below 4.0.4.0 level, you
must upgrade VRTSvxfs to 4.0.4.0 level before installing this patch.

AIX maintenance levels and APARs can be downloaded from the
IBM Web site:

    http://techsupport.services.ibm.com

Install the VRTSvxfs.4.0.4.40-incr.bff package if VRTSvxfs is
already installed at fileset level 4.0.4.0

Use the installp or Smit to install the patch image.

  Using installp:

  0. Before applying this patch, unmount all VxFS file systems,

  1. To apply this patch, use following command.

       # mount | grep vxfs
       # cd <patch_location>
       # installp -ag -d ./VRTSvxfs.4.0.4.40-incr.bff VRTSvxfs
       # reboot

  2. To apply and commit this patch, use following command

       installp -acg -d ./VRTSvxfs.4.0.4.40-incr.bff VRTSvxfs

  NOTE: Please refer installp(1M) man page for clear understanding
  on APPLY & COMMIT state of the package/patch.

  Using Smit:

       Software Installation and Maintenance ->
       Install and Update Software ->
       Update Installed Software to Latest Level

Reboot the system after the installation of this package is complete.

Deinstallation Procedure VxFS patch :
======================================

If patch installation is in "APPLY" state, patch image can be rejected
or deinstalled.
If you need to remove the patch, first unmount all VxFS file systems

    # mount | grep vxfs
     # installp -r -V 4.0.4.40 VRTSvxfs
    # reboot

This command will reject/deinstall the VRTSvxfs 4.0.4.40 (MP4 RP4) patch.
Patch contents cannot be rejected/deinstalled if it is in COMMITed state.

==================================

If the currently installed VRTScavf is below 1.0.4.0 level, you
must upgrade VRTScavf to 1.0.4.0 level before installing this patch.

Install the VRTScavf.bff package if VRTScavf is
already installed at fileset level 1.0.4.0

Use the installp or Smit to install the patch image.

  Using installp:

  1. To apply this patch, use following command.

       # cd <patch_location>
       # installp -ag -d ./VRTScavf.bff VRTScavf
       # reboot

  2. To apply and commit this patch, use following command

       installp -acg -d ./VRTScavf.bff VRTScavf

Reboot the system after the installation of this package is complete.
