A Redirected Restore from an Incremental/Differential backup set of an Exchange 2007 database to a Recovery Storage Group (RSG) or an Alternate Storage Group fails with the error "A failure occurred querying the Writer status".

A redirected restore from an Incremental or a Differential
backup set of an Exchange 2007 database to a Recovery Storage Group (RSG) or an
Alternate Storage Group fails with the above error.
The following events are logged in the Application log on the Exchange server during the restore process:

Workaround:
Restore the database back to the original database on the original server.
Solution:
This problem has been permanently fixed in Backup Exec version 12.0 and later. To resolve the issue upgrade to Backup Exec version 12.0 or above and re-run the restore.
