- Incident
1044214 - Two stored procedures with the same object ID from two different
databases are correlated to the same text.
- Incident
1059114 - In double byte environments, long textual values cause failures during
the load to the Performance Warehouse and faulty truncations of the values.

faulty sampling of the SGA.

Requirements
Before applying this patch, you must apply the
IN_INFP_751_007
(
http://support.veritas.com/docs/290432
) patch. If you have not yet applied the
IN_INFP_751_007 patch, abort the
current installation, apply the
IN_INFP_751_007 patch and then re-apply
this patch. To check whether the
IN_INFP_751_007 patch has been installed
on your system, go to
AdminPoint>Patches and verify that the
IN_INFP_751_007 patch has been installed on your Symantec i
3
FocalPoint server.
Installation
directive
When you apply the version 7.5.1 bundle patch
BU_I3_750_001 on a server, any relevant version 7.5.1 MP bundle patch or
patch (for example BU_OR_751_015) that was previously applied to that
server should be re-applied to that server after you complete the version 7.5.1
bundle patch installation.
The following is an example scenario:
1.
You have installed a Symantec i3 version 7.5.0 server with a .NET
Collector agent.
2. You have applied the version 7.5.1 bundle patch
BU_I3_750_001 to the server. The server version is now version
7.5.1.
3. You have installed the Indepth for Microsoft .NET version 7.5.1
MP bundle Patch BU_DN_751_003. The server version that is shown is still
version 7.5.1.
4. Let us assume that the MP2 bundle patch has not been
installed on Indepth for Oracle. You install the Indepth for Oracle FocalPoint
on the server. Because the MP2 bundle patch for this product has not been
applied, it does not fall under the staging process, the server version is now
version 7.5.0.
5. You now need to re-apply version 7.5.1 bundle patch
BU_I3_750_001. After applying the version 7.5.1 bundle patch, the server
version is version 7.5.1.
6. At this stage you must reapply the Indepth
for Microsoft .NET bundle patch BU_DN_751_003 to bring your server to the
same state as it was before you applied the version 7.5.1 bundle patch
BU_I3_750_001 in the previous step.
Note: It is also
recommended to install the latest Indepth for Oracle bundle patch currently
BU_OR_751_015.

Known
Problems
The Indepth
for Oracle Collector agent running on RedHat Linux servers gives an "Errors
Reported" status in AdminPoint.
Description:
No valid status is returned
during the verification of the Indepth for Oracle Collector agent. The issue is
caused by the fact that the system 'echo' command is not aliased with 'echo -e'
(which is the default out-of-the-box setting in most RedHat versions apart from
RedHat 5).
Solution:
1. Stop the
Indepth for Oracle Collector agent (the stop will not be indicated in
AdminPoint).
2. Log on to
the server with the monitored instance/s using the i3 user.
3. Make the
following change to the <i3_root>/products/oracle/bin/pss_start.sh
file:
Before:
[Line 18] if [ "`uname`" =
"Linux" ] ; then
[Line 19] export
GETOPT_COMPATIBLE=YES
[20] fi
After:
[Line 18] if [ "`uname`" =
"Linux" ] ; then
[New] alias echo="echo
-e"
[Line 19] export
GETOPT_COMPATIBLE=YES
[20] fi
Known issue
during the installation
The
installation of a SunOS_x86 server fails when you install the Indepth for Oracle
bundle patch without pre-installing the prerequisite infrastructure patch
IN_INFP_751_007
(
http://support.veritas.com/docs/290432
).
Known issue
failure details
The following
two options are available for the server installation:
- Installation
using the UNIX Automatic mode
- Manual
installation (aka installation of UNIX server without a Telnet connection)
When
you install the SunOS_x86 server using the UNIX Automatic mode, the installation
fails with the following error:
The
i3 Listener could not start. In order to perform the installation, use the 'Unix
without telnet connection' installation type. Make sure the selected port is
free and not used by any other application.
When you
install the SunOS_x86 server manually, only the setup.xml file is created. The
psin_ba_SunOS_x86 file is not created (this means that there is actually no
installation file to run).
Known issue
solution
To solve this
known issue, install the prerequisite infrastructure patch
IN_INFP_751_007
(
http://support.veritas.com/docs/290432
) and then install the server using the same option as you tried
before.
Notes
- It
is highly recommended to install the patch on all the Symantec i3
servers. If you only want to install it on some of the servers, you must make
sure that the first installation of this Bundle Patch includes all servers that
contain Symantec i3 FocalPoint agents or any of the other product
FocalPoint agents.
- The
Bundle Patch mechanism will display all Pre- and Post-Patch requirements for all
individual patches that are part of the Symantec Indepth for Oracle version
7.5.1 BU_OR_751_015 patch and are relevant to the installed environment.
It is highly recommended that you will use View in Browser at this stage, and
save the action items to a file for later reference, as some of these action
items are dynamically calculated and displayed. The list of these Pre- and
Post-action items is also saved in the following log file on the Symantec
i3 FocalPoint
server:
UNIX:
<i3_root>/logs/infra.bundle.patch.action.items.log
Windows:
<i3_root>\logs\infra.bundle.patch.action.items.log
- Do
not install the patches in the bundle separately. If you do so, this may lead to
unexpected results.
- During
the installation of this patch, the Oracle Collector agents are automatically
stopped and restarted on the patched server(s). However, this is not the case
for HP Tru64 UNIX servers or servers that contain a storage extension. On these
servers you will need to run the root.sh script and manually restart the
Collector agent at the end of the
installation.
