Databases, the first two characters of the server name may be truncated in the

that the password was typed correctly" is returned in the job log.

errors in the job log body are as follows:
Restore -
RVER
The Media
Server was unable to connect to the remote machine RVER. The machine could not
be found on the network.
The Media
Server will fall back on the on the local agent and try to complete the
operation.
Access is
denied to Remote Agent.
Note: The Server name SERVER has the first two
characters truncated in the above
message.
Workaround:
1. Open
the %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file with Notepad or some
other text file editor
2. Add an entry or modify an
existing entry for the restore target server that includes the IP address and
the server name minus the first 2 characters. For example:
192.168.1.1 RVER
3. Save the file with the
changes.
Note: Be sure to remove this entry after the
restore completes to prevent issues with backup or other application
connectivity to the server.
