After decommissioning or renaming/removing a remote server, the Backup Exec job log reports that it is unable to attach to server

The backup fails with the following alert error message
(Figure 1).

And in
the job log the following error (Figure 2) is displayed:

When a server has been removed from the network but not removed
from the backup selections list, Backup Exec (tm) will still attempt to attach
to the unavailable server during a backup.
Manual removal of the server
from the Backup Exec selection list is required.
Before Server B was
removed from the network, the server could be seen in the graphical Backup Exec
Selection List (Figure 3).

After the server is removed from the network, Server B is now not
visible in the graphical Backup Exec Selection List (Figure 4).

To remove Server B perform the following steps:
1. Switch
to the
Text View Format 2. Click the
Text option in
View
Format (Figure 5).

A reference to Server B is still visible (Figure
6).

To remove Server B from the backup selection, perform the steps given
below:
1. Highlight the line with the reference to the removed server
2. Click
Delete.
3. After all references to the removed server
are deleted, click
OK (Figure 7).

Apply this process to all selection lists with reference to the
removed server.
