VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 for Windows Servers Installation Files

Important Note:  There are two revisions of Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers: 4691 and 4691.1. In the original release of Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers (revision 4691), the Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option was not enabled. In this updated release of Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers (revision 4691.1), the Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option is now enabled. There are no other differences between the two revisions. If Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers revision 4691 is already installed, install Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers HotFix 1 to patch revision 4691 to 4691.1 (instead of installing a complete copy of Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers 4691.1). The installation files for Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers are available in two forms (it is only necessary to download one form of the installation files):

1.  A Single Download File: The Backup Exec installation CD zipped up as a single large file download. A link to this "single download file" can be found under the Related Documents section of this document.

2.  Multiple Smaller "Split Download" Files: The Backup Exec installation CD zipped up as a single large file, then split up into smaller downloads. This requires the user to combine the "split download files" by using the "batch file" provided in this download.  Links to these "split download files" can be found under the Related Documents heading of this document. The "split download files" required to recreate the Backup Exec installation CD are:

To recreate the Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers installation CD from these "split download files" and install Backup Exec, follow these steps:

1.  Download the "split download files" and "batch file" to the same temporary directory

2.  From the command prompt, go to the temporary directory and run the batch file BEWS.91.4691.1_264659.CMD. The batch file will combine the five split files into one large ZIP file named BEWS.91.4691.1.ZIP.  The file will be placed in the temporary directory.

3.  Extract the contents of BEWS.91.4691.1.ZIP to another temporary directory

4.  Start the Backup Exec installation by running BROWSER.EXE from the extracted files
