The jog log will display the following:

Job Completion Status

The error mentioned above occurs when the following conditions are met:

1. The local media server is running VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.0 for Windows Servers (all applicable builds)

2. The backup job contains the local media server and a NetWare server that is running the Remote Agent for NetWare

3. The backup job Resource Order has the NetWare server as the first selection in the job (Figure 1)

 

To work around the issue, highlight the local media server, and click Make First.


VERITAS Software has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article. VERITAS Software is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. However, the issue is currently scheduled to be addressed in the next major revision of the product. Please be sure to refer back to this document periodically as any changes to the status of the defect will be reflected here. Please note that VERITAS Software reserves the right to remove any fix from the targeted release if it does not pass quality assurance tests.
