One Remote Agent for Windows Servers license is included with all Backup Exec agents that require the license.
Details:
The Lotus Domino Agent, Microsoft Exchange Agent, Microsoft
SQL Agent, and Oracle Agent include a Client Access License (CAL) to allow
backups and restores of remote systems.
If one of these agents is
being used to protect databases that are on the local server (the same machine
that has Backup Exec (tm) installed on it), the Remote Agent for Windows Servers
(RAWS) or CAL license that was included with the agent can be installed, and
then the Remote Agent can be installed on one remote computer for backup
purposes.
Example: If the SQL Agent is being used to protect databases on
the local media server only, the Remote Agent can be installed to one remote
Windows server so that the resource can be protected by Backup Exec.
If one of these agents is being used to protect databases
that are on a remote resource, the RAWS should not be installed on any other
remote computer.
Example: If the Exchange Agent is protecting a remote
resource, the Remote Agent is necessary in order to perform remote backup and
restore operations on that server. In this case, the RAWS should not be
installed on any other Windows server.
NOTE:
The compatibility of Windows NT Workstation 4.0 with SP 6a or NT Server 4.0 with
SP 6a is only up to Backup Exec version 9.1. Backup Exec Version 10.0 and above
do not support any Windows NT 4.0 Operating Systems. See the compatibility list
for Backup Exec version 10.x in the related documents.
