provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for LSI
E5600/E4600/E400 Arrays. For general information about Array Support

SMlsiasl_259105.tar.Z.
Before adding
any ASL package, make sure VERITAS Volume Manager is installed and enabled
(vxdctl mode command should return "enabled"):

WARNING:
If installing on Solaris 9, then set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib. Refer
to TechNote 251706 for complete information (link available below under "Related
Documents").
To install the
package type:

zcat SMlsiasl_259105.tar.Z | tar xvf -
#
pkgadd -d ./SMlsiasl-SOL-08.40.00.03.pkg
After the
package is installed, you must run the vxdctl
enable command to claim the disk array as a LSI array:
#
vxdctl enable
After running
vxdctl enable, you should see libvxlsiinf.so in output of
vxddladm listsupport:
#
vxddladm listsupport | grep lsi
libvxlsiinf.so

ASL below is
excluded and will not claim any LSI Array as a part of pkgadd.
liblsiasl.so is a new ASL for LSI
E5600/4600/4400 Array.

Note:
To ensure
proper operation, you should set timers in the Solaris disk drivers by running
the command
/opt/SM8/asl/set_lsi_array_timers.
Depending on
the version of firmware your array is using,
a ) you
may need to install the SMdmp package
b) use
the SMcli /opt/SM8/dmp/dmp_setup.scr script to place the array in the proper
mode for VERITAS dynamic multipathing (DMP) operation.
