On a system that has two NICs installed, the Backup to Network job sends data to a non-specified NIC during the backup.
Details:
The traffic
that is seen on the non-specified network interface card (NIC) is the "control"
connection for the backup. When the VERITAS Backup Exec Remote Agent queries the
network, it binds to the first available NIC. As the first available card
may not be the one specified in the Backup to Network Job, this does not ensure
data isolation to the specified network.
