How to disable the VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows NT watermark to increase throughput over a slow WAN link

Details:
The Backup Exec for Windows NT Graphical User Interface has a default watermark that may cause slow downs on remote control applications (Figure 1).

In some cases, Backup Exec for Windows NT may reduce network traffic over a slow WAN link by disabling the Backup Exec for Windows NT watermark. Normally, this is only necessary when connecting via a slow link with a remote control software. The Backup Exec Remote Administrator runs on the local machine and does not require that the watermark to be disabled.

This watermark can be disabled for an increase in network performance by double-clicking on any part of the border (Figure 2).
